DJ Profiles

Below are some brief descriptions about our djs.

Tom Upton

I have been djing since I was about 17, so that’s about 10yrs now. I used to be the resident Dj in a local Yates's wine lodge for 5yrs, that was great fun until Yates's decided to introduce a PC to deliver the music for the night! It was a real pain as they wanted 1 in 3 tracks to be played with a video on there fancy plasma screens! So yep I got bored and moved on.

Now i am focusing on my Djing career by uploading regular sets to MixUpload.com and playing on a number of Online Radio Station.

I now own a pair of CDJ 800's and DJM 500 mixer!! By far the best purchases i have ever made! I love my house music, electro, mash ups and old skool trance / club!

More recently I have started mixing again and now im looking for a residency in a club.

I have recently joined mixupload.com and have posted a number of my sets on their website which i am getting some awesome feebback from! .

Brookes and Bown

Fusing their uplifting vocal, piano & funky vibe with electro house with just a hint of the old skool, Garry Brookes & Paul Bown have been ripping up the floor all round the world.  Their back 2 back style and friendly competition means that almost every tune is better than the last. A great rapport with their crowd means they drop the right tune at the right time and leave every clubber asking for more.  Influenced by old skool combos such as Brothers In Rhythm, Shades of Rhythm, K-Klass etc and newer producers such as Raul Rincon, Seamus Haji & Olav Basoski, these two will not fail to get you on a happy vibe and make your weekend one to remember.

"Originally on the scene in 1988, Paul started playing iat Cambridge free parties, Garry was playing free parties in the South of England.

Between them they have shook the floor in MOS & on Kicks FM and have held successful residencies at The Warehouse & The Mega Bar (Melbourne) Safari & VIP(Phuket), Full Moon Parties (Koh Samui), Banus & Sugar (Weymouth), and most recently The Fire Station (Dorchester) With new bookings for 2007 in Bulgaria, Moscow and Liverpool things are looking up. Now in the process of producing some new Funky & Electro house tunes, promos are due for release in early 2008. With a taste for uplifting, funky and dirty electro house you could do worse than check out their mixes on mixupload.com. Some of them have a classic or old skool slant that will please house fans from any era. With the production of new tunes and some radio slots currently in the pipleine, keep your eyes open for these two"

Welcome to Brooks & Bown !

Mark Masters

Mark Masters started playing and mixing with his decks from an early age – in fact his love of music and getting his first set of decks started in the summer of 96. The last seven years he has been playing professionally…

He started his DJ career in local pubs playing what he loved at the time which was Retrospective House. His Tuesday & Thursday nights down the Local Bars/Pubs in Camberley turned into a big success playing House Music in summer 1998. After a while he got a huge following & got offered to play in Farnham Uni as their new Resident DJ and many other venues in Surrey.

Mark has had residences at various clubs. He has had the opportunity of playing with a variety of top class DJ’s like… Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Alfredo, Lottie, AJ Gibson, Dan Bailey, Jay Walker, Lisa Pin Up to name only a few and went back 2 back with Ariel resident at Fabric – London: “It was an inspiration to say the least… AWESOME”

UK Tours: Godskitchen, Euphoria, Fabric, Slinky, Orange & Manumission.

Mark has a unique way of mixing records, which is his forte. When he plays out he interacts with the crowd to make sure they are enjoying themselves and always gives 110%.

In the mean time he entered into a few DJ Competitions around England as well as starting up his own Night:

*Winner of a DJ Competition at Gatecrasher back in May 2004.
*Trance Runner-Up in Guy Ornadels - Future Talent Competition.

Interviewed Live on Galaxy FM by Nick Riley & Andy Durrant for Nu-Breeds Upcoming Talent in the UK.

After Wildchild and Galaxy FM he wanted to venture into his own Club/Bar Night.

He got together with some friends who were running a club night at the time called “Casafunk” … After sitting down and thinking about what he wants and where he wanted to go, he decided to go ahead and venture into the House Music scene where the Casafunk brand can grow... These venues are based in the Midlands as well as London. Casafunk has a variety of World Class House Dj’s week-in-week out playing the best in what House Music has to offer.

There is also a Casafunk Radio Show hosted by Mark Masters on www.ssradiouk.com - which is on, every other Thursday night 8-10pm. GMT. He has had the great pleasure of having world class Dj’s on his radio show from Dj’s like: Ron Carroll, Chris Lake, Soul Avengerz, Hoxton Whores, Audiowhores, Christian Hornbostel, Sergio Flores, etc…

Mark is also currently working for Ministry Of Sound as a New Music Scout in the A&R Department and is currently running Two Casafunk, Club/Bar nights in the Surrey area, as well as Djing in other venues across the UK.

I got into house music back in 1988-89 and followed DJ's such a Danny Rampling and Steve Proctor and was going to loads of London based promotions EVERY weekend.

I bought my first set of decks around 1994 and DJ'ed at various events over the years through a promotions crowd called Clubland Records.

Playing at venues such as Ministry Of Sound (London), Limelights (London), SW1 (London) and Bagley's (London) to mention but a few!

Eventually certain responsibilities hit home and I hung up my headphones for a number of years.

That is until now, a change of circumstances and an opportunity to DJ back at the Ministry Of Sound back in July 07 which re-ignited my passion.

I have recently joined www.mixupload.com getting some great feedback and soon got the know the guys at www.raunchyrhythms.com

The rest as they say is history!!
